ALPES
Fall-Winter 2009/2010 Collection

Exploring the new Alpes collection for Autumn-Winter 2009-2010 we'll find numerous items that conceal innovative high-performance features behind their apparent simplicity.
Ongoing research into organic yarns has produced new bio cotton proposals, either with wintry consistencies or blended with extra fine merino wool.
Classic yarns in the Rich Classics category, one of strong points of the Alpes output, take on an elegant allure when enhanced with fine and extra fine merino wool, with special attention paid to tactile softness and perfect surfaces. There are new blends of prestigious Pima cotton with fluffy rounded and comfortable extra fine merino. And consolidation of previously achieved winter viscose yarns with an "angora feel" and a soft felted look. Under the Soft Luxury heading we find more exclusive yarns, including blends with cashmere, and softly rounded structures with delicate elasticity. Plus interesting developments in thickness, ranging from ultra thin yarns for sophisticated extra light garments to the cuddly warmth of thick chunky knitwear. The ultimate in softness is achieved in refined blends using milk fibre, with a warm creamy feel.
The yarns in Tactile Reliefs are subtly textured, taking on more wrinkly forms and evoking more dynamic energies. The coarser yarns are intended for big-bodied knitwear with swollen shapes that nevertheless remain lightweight.
Modern Naturals is the heading for yarns that contain alpaca. They interpret a natural sense of style, combining the rustic and the sophisticated with the comfortable feel inherent to products that balance quality and wearability. Here are yarns for felting or providing gauzy aspects, rowings for achieving exaggerated ripple, relief or bubble effects, ideal for knitwear that revive the impulse to experiment with original creative impact.
